Yekaterinaberg, Russia
Famous for one thing, the murder of the Imperial Family in 1918, we had hoped there would be a little more to Yekaterinaberg. Fortunately, there was: we arrived on the city's 286th birthday celebrations. So our obligatory trip to the Church of the Romanov Saints was complimented by a wander around this working Russian city in carnival atmosphere.

ReplyDeleteah, finally i see how to post a comment here - mum had been telling me how it was just the thing and i just couldn't work it out. i love following your trip....you remember nicky (friend of rob, from table tennis - played boules with her and her brother (in the baseball outfit) last year) well, her 8 year old son knew the capital of mongolia from about the age of 5 and used to recite it (along with a few others) - and would be most impressed to here you are actually there. i shall phone the info in!!
